Kentucky Poet Laureate Crystal Wilkinson visited the JSU campus for a poetry reading, book signing, and masterclass for her award-winning book 'Perfect Black'. The events were hosted by the Department of English, Foreign Languages, and Speech Communication on behalf of their new creative writing program, which is offered as a new major and minor for JSU students. Wilkinson is the second Black person to serve as Kentucky poet laureate and the first Black woman to be awarded the title.
