The event at the Joseph H. Jackson College of Education Building allowed children to dress up in scary outfits.

While it’s not so spooky, Butler’s platform this year is “A.I.M,” which she says stands for “academic excellence, image, and mentorship.”

She’s certainly fulfilling the mentorship part. The center is a research and teaching laboratory for university faculty, staff, students and the community. Its focus is on early literacy.

The kids now have a memorable event for Halloween that will last far longer than any candy.
