Jackson State University will host a mobile app development workshop featuring Apple engineer Steve Hayman on Nov. 7 from 2-4 p.m.
Hayman will discuss and demonstrate Apple’s latest software development tools for the iPad, iPhone and iPod Touch, and show how individuals and institutions are building innovative mobile applications for their organizations and the wider world. Hayman will highlight what’s new for developers with iOS 7, deconstruct some popular applications, and show you how to get started building your own with Apple’s free tools.
Hayman will also talk about native application development with Xcode, and review the integration and deployment options and Apple’s developer program including the University Developer Program.
Hayman is a National Consulting Engineer with Apple’s Education Team based in Toronto, specializing in Apple’s developer tools and UNIX core. Prior to Apple, Steve worked with Steve Jobs at NeXT Computer. Hayman is particularly fond of the WebKit open source objects included in Mac OS X 10.5 and has built and thrown away dozens of different web browsers as a result.
Students, faculty, staff and administrators are invited to attend. The event will be held in the Student Center Theater. For information, 601-979-1375.
