The JSU College of Public Service School of Social Work and Mississippi Families for Kids will be hosting its 3rd Annual Black Family Summit at the JSU Student Center starting at 8 a.m. Tuesday, April 13, through Thursday.
The theme for this year’s summit is “Creating Wealth Through Economic Development in Communities of Color,” said Aundria Range, recruiter/publicist, College of Public Service.
Sessions, among others, include:
— The Role of the Church in Wealth Building
— Respecting Our Black Dollars
— Supporting Community-based Businesses Inherent Values
— The Economic Impact of Grandfathers
— Education is Economic Development
In addition, panel discussions will be on: Preserving The Sustainability Of HBCUs;
Legislators & Economic Access; Media’s Impact On Economic Development; and Prison Industrialization Complex/Privatized Prisons.
