Jackson State University will welcome Milan Milosevic, a renowned clarinetist and music director at Vancouver College, to perform multiple compositions for clarinet and tarogato, a woodwind instrument at 7 p.m. Nov. 6 in the auditorium of the F.D. Hall Music Center.
Milosevic is a Doctor of Musical Arts candidate at the University of British Columbia and recipient of the British Columbia Arts Council Award, the UBC Faculty of Graduate Studies Research Award and UBC Graduate Award for Academic Excellence. Milan is a Légère Reeds Endorsed Artist, the Tarogato Stowasser J. Endorsed Artist, a Backun Clarinets Featured Artist and performs on Buffet-Crampon clarinets.
The performance will culminate with the premiere of Dr. Ivan Elezovic’s composition, “The Wind Was There.” Elezovic is coordinator of music theory and composition at JSU. This event is part of the 2013 University Scholars Symposium.
