(JACKSON, Miss.) – Jackson State University and University College are convening the 2nd Annual Summer Developmental Program Conference on Thursday, Feb. 28 at the Jackson State University Student Center Ballroom. The theme this year is “Developing Minds to Expand Educationally.”
The conference serves as a meeting point for lecturers and researchers in all academic disciplines and cultures including athletic personnel. Public school and university personnel will get a chance to discuss enrollment requirements, eligibility criteria, NCAA regulations, and best practices in mathematics, reading and English. Participants also will learn about the Summer Developmental Program at Mississippi’s universities and the synergy that should exist between athletics and academics. The keynote address during the morning session will feature Dr. Cedric Gray, superintendent of Jackson Public Schools.
