Jackson State University names ‘Rob Jay’ executive director of University Communications

Jackson State University has named longtime broadcaster and alum Robert “Rob Jay” Jeuitt as interim executive director of University Communications, replacing Eric Stringfellow.

Jeuitt serves as general manager of television at the Mississippi e-Center@JSU, overseeing JSUTV and WJSU-FM. In his new role he will manage public relations, marketing, social media and the broadcast installations at the e-Center.

In announcing the change, JSU Interim Vice President of Institutional Advancement Dr. Mary M. White said, “We are delighted to have someone of Rob’s stature lead our communications division. He brings decades of journalism experience to the role and has always been an ardent supporter of our great institution.” White also thanks Stringfellow for his dedicated service and said the university wishes him well in his future endeavors.

A national search for an executive director will be conducted.

Jeuitt said, “This is a tremendous opportunity, and I look forward to the privilege of guiding the department during this transition. I’m particularly grateful for the confidence of the administration.”

A native Jacksonian, Jay, 50, is well known for his award-winning work as sports director at local NBC affiliate WLBT-TV, where he spent 22 years. He currently co-hosts JSUTV’s “Metro Morning Live” on Comcast Channel 14.
