The JSU Center for University Scholars is holding a workshop to teach faculty members how to build their contacts and international reputations on Thursday, Dec. 4.
To be held 10-11:30 a.m. at room 3213 in the Student Center, the free program is titled “Establishing an International Reputation and Engaging in Multi-Disciplinary and Multi-Institutional Collaborations.”
According to Kenya A. Hudson, faculty development specialist at the JSU Center for University Scholars, the workshop is part of the Faculty Engagement and Advancement Program.
It’s “primarily for faculty,” she said, but also may be of interest to administrators and graduate students interested in faculty jobs.
To entice and reward attendees, small “giveaways” will be handed out, Hudson said. “We know it’s a busy time for faculty,” with the end of the semester, she said. “Sometimes, you just need a break.”

The Faculty Engagement and Advancement Program is a series of interactive workshops and working luncheons designed to promote excellence in research, teaching and service. Administered by the Center for University Scholars, the programs target faculty members at various stages in their careers, from early career to mid-career.
The workshop is co-sponsored by the Division of Academic and Student Affairs and the Division of Research and Federal Relations, Hudson said.
