Jackson State University announces that Tabatha “Tammy” Terrell-Brooks will serve in the role of director of Alumni and Constituency Relations effective July 15. Terrell-Brooks is transitioning from her current position as special assistant to the vice president for Institutional Advancement.
“Serving as special assistant and as interim director of Alumni and Constituent Relations, Mrs. Terrell-Brooks brings a wealth of experience and a true understanding of our alumni. She embodies the qualities of a true Jacksonian, and she will work to further strengthen the partnership that exists between the university and its alumni community,” said Anthony Holloman, vice president for Institutional Advancement at Jackson State.

Terrell-Brooks said, “I count it a privilege as well as an honor to have been selected to implement processes and programs designed to help us grow as we engage current and prospective alumni of Jackson State University. As a first step, I would like to assure our alumni, that as your ambassador, I will work tirelessly as a liaison for you.”
Alumni and Constituency Relations develops, coordinates, and promotes programs to keep our alumni connected to Jackson State University and to one another. The office is under the umbrella of the Division of Institutional Advancement.
Jackson State University National Alumni Association President Yolanda Owens, said, “The Jackson State University National Alumni Association has worked with Mrs. Brooks before and we are excited to see her return to this role. We anticipate a smooth transition as we plan for a dynamic year full of activities and events that will further engage and energize our alumni base.”
Terrell-Brooks added, “I am a true tiger. I earned my Bachelor of Arts degree in business and a Master of Science degree in guidance and counseling both from Jackson State.”
She outlined an ambitious service plan, including helping to create a culture of philanthropy between the alumni body, to ensure that alumni continue to contribute their time, talent and financial resources to the betterment of the university and to provide alumni with rewarding opportunities to serve JSU, its faculty, and its students.
