JSU virtual due to Jackson water woes, in-person registration continues

The City of Jackson is currently experiencing city-wide water pressure and boil-water issues, which are impacting Jackson State University locations. As a result, the university is shifting to virtual work and classes for today, Thursday, Jan. 18, and Friday, Jan. 19. In-person registration will continue.

The Department of Facilities and Construction Management is closely monitoring campus water pressures and is in constant contact with City of Jackson officials.

We will provide updates accordingly.

IN-PERSON REGISTRATION CONTINUES
In-person extended registration will continue through Thursday, Jan. 18 – Friday, Jan. 19, from 8 am to 6 pm. Registration services are in the auditorium of Jacob L. Reddix Hall on the 2nd Floor. 

On Saturday, Jan. 20, from 10 am – 3 pm, registration services will be in the auditorium of Jacob.L. Reddix Hall on the 2nd Floor.

TELEWORK AND CLASSES
To relieve pressure on our water system, we are pivoting to virtual work for non-essential employees and virtual classes at 1 p.m. today, Thursday, Jan. 18, and Friday, Jan. 19. 

Please check with your supervisors regarding work arrangements and expectations.

We encourage all virtual employees to use our video conferencing and Webx platforms to maintain the engagement and productivity necessary for the start of the spring semester.
