Jackson State University’s Department of Music will host a “Music Education Day” workshop for music educators on Feb. 28 at the F.D. Music Recital Hall from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
The workshop, which is open to the campus community, will explore new ideas needed to develop music education in Mississippi, including the state’s K-12 programs.
The guest speaker will be Dr. Carl Hancock, president-elect of the Alabama Music Educators Association and Assistant Professor of Music Education at the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa. Hancock will give a lecture at noon in the the recital hall.
