The city of Jackson has lifted its boil water alert for the entire city due to water pressure issues in the city system.

Boil Water Alert Information:
Bottled water will be delivered to each Jackson State University residence hall by 3 p.m. Nov. 20. Residents should use bottled water for drinking and brushing teeth. All campus dining facilities will use bottled water for cooking until the boil water alert is lifted. Water does not need to be boiled for bathing or washing clothes.
Water pressure is expected to return by the end of the day. In the meantime, the campus community is asked to conserve water.
The city’s water issues are affecting the main JSU campus and the Mississippi e-Center @JSU. Several buildings on the main campus are currently experiencing low water pressure. The Mississippi e-Center @JSU will be closed until 5 p.m. today.
For more information, consumers may call the Department of Public Works at 601-960-2723 during business hours or 601-960-1778 or 1875 after hours.
