Jackson State University accounting students Matthew Lampley and Dexter Nix are the new additions to BKD, LLP’s Jackson office.
Lampley (pictured, left), a native of Jackson, is a 2013 graduate of Jackson State University where he earned a Bachelor of Business Administration in accounting. He is currently attending graduate school at Jackson State and will complete his Masters of Business Administration in May 2014. He joins BKD this spring as an intern in the Jackson office’s tax department.
Lampley is currently a member of the JSU Accounting Society where he previously served as vice president. He is also an active member of Beta Gamma Sigma National Honor Society, National Association of Black Accountants, JSU Student Government Association, Phi Kappa Phi Honors and Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc.
While pursuing his undergraduate degree at Jackson State, Lampley was a member of the W.E.B. Du Bois Honors College, Future Business Leaders of America, and was elected vice president of Alpha Lambda Delta Honor Society. Lampley is a JSU Dean’s List Scholar.
Nix, a native of Moss Point, Miss, is currently attending Jackson State University where he will receive a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting in May 2014. He is interning in the Jackson office’s audit department this spring.
Nix (pictured, right) is a member of the W.E.B. Du Bois Honors College and the Jackson State Accounting Society, where he serves as the second vice president. He is also an active member of Alpha Lambda Delta Honor Society, National Association of Black Accountants, and National Student Exchange Program. Nix has been awarded as a National Dean’s List Scholar, National President’s List Scholar, and the MSCPA-Hamp King Award. He has served as a co-op student for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers for more than two years.
