Ribbon-cutting for JSU trading room on Friday

The Jackson State University College of Business on Friday is holding a ribbon-cutting for a state-of-the-art trading room that offers up-to-the-minute movements of publicly traded stocks, 24 student work stations, and some of the most sophisticated financial software on the market.

The grand opening and ribbon-cutting ceremony will be at 10 a.m. at the College of Business. Tours of the trading room explaining the software, historical and real-time market data tracking, portfolio analytics and other features will occur every 15 minutes.

Representatives from the university and partners BankPlus and Horne, LLP, will be on hand.

The 1,116-square-foot Trading Room-Interdisciplinary Learning Lab (TR-ILL) is partially funded by a Title III grant from the U.S. Department of Education and will be administered by the Department of Economics, Finance and General Business.
