With April as National Gardening Month, the Welcome Center at Jackson State University continues its Community Gardening Project with Blackburn Laboratory Middle School with a free public seminar from noon to 1 p.m. Tuesday, April 28.
The event will include essential gardening tips for the summer.
Speakers from JSU will include Heather Wilcox, neighborhood development assistant with the Center for University-Based Development; and Kyle W. Bray, director of grants/special projects and community service for the College of Education and Human Development.
In addition, landscape designers Nicole Bunch and Sara Lamb from Green Oak Florist will teach on how to spruce up and maintain yards, plants and gardens.
