CUBD invites JSU community to meeting

The Center for University-Based Development (CUBD) invites Jackson State University students, faculty and staff to attend a meeting Wednesday, Oct. 15, from 10:15 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. to discuss the future of west Jackson.

The meeting in the JSU Student Center, 2nd Floor, will focus on The West Jackson Master Plan, said CUBD Director Jason H. Brookins.

“The master plan is a guidebook that empowers residents and other stakeholders to invest in the redevelopment of the community from Highway 80 to Fortification Street and between Ellis Avenue and Gallatin Streets,” Brookins said.

The session is “open to all of the JSU community,” Brookins said.

The center is an initiative by Jackson State University to assist with the redevelopment of the one-mile area around the main campus. The office also reviews opportunities to facilitate development near all other JSU campuses.
