Iraqis visit JSU

Iraqi Guests-6431Jackson State University welcomed two Iraqi delegates to Jackson State University on Thursday and Friday, Feb. 20-21.
The government of Iraq sent university faculty, staff and top students abroad for master’s and doctorate programs in all fields of study to improve Iraq’s higher education system and capacity building.
The guests were Dr. Ammar Alsahrawi, Deputy Cultural Attaché of the Iraqi Cultural Office in Washington D.C. and Karwan Zebar, Director of the Congressional and Academic Affairs of the Kurdistan Regional Government of Iraq –  Representation in the United States.
The delegates were already in Mississippi presenting at the 2014 Conference of Mississippi Association of International Educators and Study Mississippi.  On Thursday afternoon they visited JSU to present the Iraqi and Kurdistan scholarship programs and to meet with the deans to learn more about JSU programs.
