The Academic Progress Rate – or APR – is a four-year average based on the school’s overall student-athlete eligibility, retention, and graduation rates for student-athletes. The current APR cohort consists of student-athletes who participated during the 2008-09, 2009-10, 2010-11 and 2011-12 academic years. The rate also serves as a predictor of graduation success with 930 representing approximately a 50% graduation rate.

Headlining the banner of academic excellence for the Division of Athletics is the women’s tennis program, which recently was recognized by the NCAA for a top 10 percent academic performance nationally in its respective sport in regard to APR scores and achievement. The women’s tennis team boasts a perfect multi-year score of 1,000 for the third consecutive year, resulting in the team’s third consecutive NCAA APR Public Recognition Award.
