Jackson, Mississippi – Jackson State University (JSU) Acting President Elayne Hayes-Anthony, Ph.D., has appointed Fredrick White, Ph.D., as executive director of Title III.
“Dr. White has more than 30 years of experience in proposal development, grant writing and grant compliance that will be an essential asset to our team,” said Hayes-Anthony. “I look forward to working with him to enhance our capabilities in Title III.”
White is responsible for the overall project management, planning, implementation, and reporting for the Title III grant. He will ensure compliance with all federal regulations and monitor program effectiveness.
“I am elated to be rejoining Jackson State University in the capacity of executive director of Title III. This esteemed institution boasts a proud history of equipping students for prosperous futures, and I am thrilled to contribute to this vision,” said White.
Previously, White served as the federal grant navigator consultant for the National League of Cities. He was also a federal grant administrator for the Mississippi Department of Human Services, where he provided administrative and technical guidance to various departments seeking outside funding for program support.
White served as vice president of Head Start and Early Childhood programs for the Hinds County Human Resource Agency and was responsible for the direction, management and budgetary oversight in the development, implementation and achievement of program goals.
In 2005, White served as director of Sponsored Programs and Research at Tougaloo College, where he assisted in the creation of the Office of Sponsored Programs and Research Department.
Originally from the Mississippi Delta, White received his bachelor’s degree from Mississippi Valley State University. He earned both a master’s degree and doctorate from Mississippi State University. He is also a Charles F. Kettering Public Scholar, Certified Institutional Review Board Manager and a published author.
White is married to JSU alumna Wendy White, Ph.D., and they have two children, Faren and Fredrick.
