JACKSON, Miss. (August 6, 2026) — Jackson State University’s College of Business is partnering with the Mark Cuban Foundation to help Jackson teens master Artificial Intelligence (AI). The College of Business and the Foundation will host a free AI Bootcamp for Jackson Public School students in grades 9–12 this fall. The program will take place over three consecutive Saturdays, October 31, November 7, and November 14, and will provide meals, transportation, and technology at no cost to participants.
The AI Bootcamp is designed to give students hands-on experience with cutting-edge AI tools, including generative AI, and to explore real-world applications in fields such as healthcare, business, computer science, sports, and the arts. Students will also complete a capstone project under the guidance of industry mentors.
JSU President Denise Jones Gregory, Ph.D., praised the College of Business and Mark Cuban Foundation collaboration as a model for community engagement and educational equity.
“At Jackson State University, we believe access to emerging technology should never be determined by zip code or circumstance,” said President Gregory. “Partnering with the Mark Cuban Foundation to bring this AI Bootcamp to our community is a direct extension of our mission to prepare students for the future. This is what it looks like when a university truly engages its community, empowering future innovators to pursue careers we haven’t even imagined yet.”
The Mark Cuban Foundation AI Bootcamp aims to demystify artificial intelligence and make it accessible to students who may not otherwise have exposure to advanced technology. Participants will learn how AI impacts industries and everyday life, while gaining confidence in their ability to contribute to the next wave of innovation.
“While technology expands and becomes more advanced, it’s more critical than ever that we ensure our students are prepared when they apply for schools or jobs in the future,” said Mark Cuban, founder of the Mark Cuban Foundation. “Thanks to our work with Jackson State University’s College of Business, this bootcamp will offer an avenue to explore this fascinating field to any student, no matter their means.”
JSU’s College of Business will serve as the host site and lead facilitator for the bootcamp, providing faculty expertise, student mentors, and access to university resources. The college’s involvement underscores its commitment to preparing students for the future of work and advancing digital literacy across the region.
