Jackson State University alumna Dawn Brown was named interim head coach of the Prairie View A&M women’s basketball.
“I am excited to help carry on the tradition of winning at Prairie View A&M,” said Prairie View Athletic Director Ashley Robinson. “The fans, alumni and supporters are the backbone of our program, and that support doesn’t waiver whether we are winning or losing. I am inspired by their support and will work hard to make sure that the product they see on the hardwood is one that they will be proud of.”
A 2005 graduate of Jackson State University, Brown had a two-year career as a student-athlete with the Lady Tigers and helped capture the 2002-03 SWAC Regular Season Co-Championship and a SWAC Tournament semi-final berth.
Before her playing days at Jackson State, Brown a two-time captain at Atlanta Metropolitan College, led the team to two-straight GJCAA Tournament appearances as she was a part of the inaugural team in 2000.
