The Jackson State University student chapter of the American Chemical Society won the Honorable Mention award during the 245th American Chemical Society National Meeting in New Orleans on April 7.
The award was given to acknowledge the community service efforts of the JSU ACS student chapter, such as participation in the 2012 NanoCamp, NanoDay at JSU, Casey Elementary School Science Night and NanoPlay with pre-kindergarteners at Bethlehem Center.
The ACS student chapter also performed hands-on science demonstrations at local elementary, middle and high schools.
The chapter was featured in the November/December issue of inChemistry magazine as well.
