JSU chapter of the National Society of Collegiate Scholars earns Gold Star

NSCS LogoThe National Society of Collegiate Scholars Recognized the chapter at Jackson State University as a Certified Gold Star Chapter for the 2015-2016 academic year on October 12.

To receive the Certified Gold Star designation, the JSU chapter implemented highly engaging events throughout the year, proved its commitment to the NSCS ideals and demonstrated integrity and dedication to the NSCS pillars of scholarship, leadership and service.

CEO and founder of NSCS Stephen Loflin informed Jackson State University President Carolyn W. Meyers of the award and said, “This accomplishment truly puts them among the best of the best!”

Loflin added that officers, members, sponsors and the entire JSU community should take pride in this exceptional achievement.

NSCS is a nonprofit honor society that recognizes college students that excel academically during their first and second year of matriculation through engaged membership that instills values that will last a lifetime. Not only that, but NSCS is a recognized member of the Association of College Honor Societies (ACHS), and offers $1 million in scholarships, as well as leadership and service opportunities on the local and national levels.
