Mississippi public health experts are raising the alarm about an overabundance of unused COVID-19 vaccines that is likely due to hesitancy, so Jackson State University is hosting a town hall at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 27, and has invited university and college students of every race, culture and demographic to address this critical issue.
Student leaders representing various schools will lead a forum with medical and mental health professionals in a quest to mitigate and stop the spread of the deadly disease and save lives. Panelists – armed with resources, information and support – will answer questions from Mississippi college students to try to zero in on the problem and offer solutions and support.
Student moderators will engage with the following panelists:

- Dr. Thomas Dobbs, state health officer for Mississippi State Department of Health
- Dr. Samuel Jones, director of the JSU Health Center
- Clayton Whitehead, MPH, health communications
