The British journal “APPROACHES: Music Therapy & Special Music Education” will publish an article entitled “Effects of Community Drum Music on Generalized Anxiety in Teenagers” by Jackson State University music professor David Akombo, Ph.D.
Akombo will also conduct a workshop and symposium at the Hawaii International Music Educators Conference in Honolulu, Hawaii, in February. His workshop is entitled “Let the Band Go Loose: Arranging African Music for Bands.”
