JSU names Tammy Brooks interim director of Alumni and Constituency Relations

(JACKSON, Miss.) – Tammy Brooks has been named interim director of Jackson State University’s division of Alumni and Constituency Relations.

Brooks previously served the university as a donor relations specialist in Institutional Advancement and administratively in the W.E.B. DuBois Honors College.

The Jackson native holds a bachelor’s degree in business management (2006) and a master’s degree in guidance counseling (2011), both from Jackson State.

“As an alumna, I am excited about finding new ways to connect Jacksonians and identify ways that we can support each other and our beloved alma mater,” said Brooks.

As the new director, Brooks will work with JSU’s development arm to build a culture of financial support and lifetime involvement among alumni. She will act as a liaison between the university and the Jackson State University National Alumni Association. Brooks will serve as the association’s executive director.

“I am confident that Ms. Brooks will do an amazing job,” said David Hoard, vice president of Institutional Advancement. “She’s proven herself to be creative and resourceful and has an innate ability to bring people together. The alumni will be well served under her leadership.”
