In conjunction with the Mississippi National Guard, the JSU Tiger Battalion ROTC program is hosting the 99th Annual JROTC 5K Run on Saturday, April 25.
“The 99th Annual JROTC 5K celebrates the 99th JROTC Anniversary and breaking Guinness World Record for having the ‘most participants in a 5K multi-location’,” says Capt. Gregory Davis, operations officer and assistant professor of Military Science.
“This means that everyone around the world will have one start time. From Korea, Germany, Italy, all locations in the United States will have one start time. Start time in Mississippi is 11 a.m.,” Davis said.
Participants should arrive an hour before the start time of the run, which will take place at Choctaw Trails, owned by Mississippi College and used by the JROTC for woodland training.
Activities will be also held before the run, Davis said, including recruiting information along with speeches by university and military personnel.
To participate, see https://www.jrotc5krun.com/ and register under Jackson State University.
