JSU student crowned Jackson’s Miss Hospitality

Kristy D’Anna Johnson, 21, was recently crowned Miss Hospitality 2012 for Jackson, Miss. The Jackson native is a 2009 graduate of Jim Hill High School and currently a junior psychology major at the W.E.B. DuBois Honors College at Jackson State University.

Johnson will have a chance to compete in the 2012 Miss Mississippi Hospitality Pageant, which will be held in July in Hattiesburg.

As Jackson’s Miss Hospitality, Johnson will serve as Jackson’s spokesperson and will be active in greeting conventions and participating in a wide range of tourism events.

Johnson also serves as a mentor for the Jackson Big Brothers and Big Sisters organization and is a volunteer with Habitat for Humanity, Stewpot and the Blair E. Batson Children’s Hospital.

Upon completion of her bachelor’s degree, Johnson plans to attend graduate school at Mississippi State University and pursue a master’s degree in clinical psychology.
