Jackson State University student George Tan has been selected to attend and participate in the health panel at the 2014 Harvard Project for Asian and International Relations Conference at Harvard University. The conference will be held Feb. 14-17.
Tan, a native of Malaysia who majors in biology and chemistry, enrolled at JSU in 2011. He will graduate this May with two bachelor’s degrees.
“Coming to JSU was a dream come true for me and this conference is of great importance to my personal growth and development,” said Tan.
HPAIR offers an exchange in social and political issues that pertains to the Asia- Pacific region. The conference brings together students, faculty, and leaders from all over the world to partake in discussions of economic change.
Tan is a member of JSU’s International Student Association, the Blue and White Flash and serves as director of Multicultural Student Involvement in the Student Government Association. Tan has been recognized as JSU’s “Best International Student” of 2013.
