JSU students performed at the HBCU Music Consortium held at Morehouse College in Atlanta on March 23-25. Students did an outstanding job in each ensemble. JSU’s trumpet ensemble did a stellar performance as an opening act for the event.

Instructor of music and associate director of Symphonic and Concert Band, Lowell Hollinger displayed his skills as the first chair clarinet player in the Masters Ensemble. The performance by the Masters Ensemble received a standing ovation. This ensemble was composed of directors from over 20 historically black colleges who are members of the National Band Directors Consortium.

The conference ended with a banquet honoring two retired JSU faculty members Dr. London Branch and Dr. Jimmie James. They were recognized for their service and dedication to JSU.
