Jackson State University will host the 7th Annual Men’s Health and Healthcare Conference on June 18 in the Jackson Convention Complex.

The free public conference, with registration at 8 a.m., is sponsored by JSU’s Institute of Epidemiology and Health Services Research Center of Excellence in Minority Health and Health Disparities. It will provide scientific and innovative information on current issues and best practices to enhance the health of men, said Dr. Marinelle Payton, the center’s director.
“The forum will educate and empower men to take a proactive approach to improve the quality of their lives in mind, body and spirit,” Payton said. “The program will include topics related to chronic disease; screening; prevention and disease diagnosis; spiritual health; and health and health care disparities.”
Though the conference will focus on men’s issues, women and students are encouraged to attend. The event includes a free luncheon and musical performances.
The conference is scheduled to last from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. For more information, call 601-979-1101. To download the flyer, click here.
