The Jackson State University Yearly Employee Support (Y.E.S.) campaign has broken a record for annual employee giving, according to Tifanie R. Lewis, director of annual giving, Division of Institutional Advancement.

This year, the campaign that began Sept. 30 raised $170,437.69 — amounting to a 75 percent overall faculty/staff giving rate, Lewis said.
Last year, she said, the campaign had a 16 percent giving rate totaling $77,000.
The high level of faculty/staff support has “set the bar” for excellence, she said.
“This campaign is important to the continued growth of our university and provides us an opportunity to invest in ourselves,” said Dr. James C. Renick, provost and senior vice president for academic and student affairs.
It has allowed JSU to finance more student scholarships and provide more program support, he explained.
“Thanks to each of you who have contributed to this year’s Y.E.S. Campaign,” Lewis said. “Your support and service help to provide scholarships, enhanced student opportunities, instructional excellence, specialized learning spaces and equipment, and academic programming that makes Jackson State University the first-rate institution that we love and hold in the highest regard.”
“We salute you for a job well done,” she said.
