The Richard Wright Center for Writing, Rhetoric, and Research hosted the annual Mississippi Writing Center Association Conference in March in JSU’s new Innovate faculty development center on the first floor of the H.T. Sampson Library.

Keynote speaker Dr. Lawrence T. Potter Jr., dean of the College of Liberal Arts at JSU, addressed directors, staff, and tutors from universities, two- and four-year colleges, and high schools from around the state. Potter talked to the gathering about why “Writing Matters in Unpredictable Times” and how the educators might best serve students of Mississippi.
