Lockheed Martin presents $100K gift to CSET; JSU honors tech firm with dozens of others

Before accepting a check for $100,000 from Lockheed Martin on Thursday, Nov. 17, JSU President William B. Bynum Jr. described the benefactor as an outstanding corporate partner and presented the company with two Legacy awards honoring its support.

During the check presentation ceremony, Lockheed received the “Pinnacle of Excellence Award” in the highest-giving business category and was also added to the “President’s Legacy Society.“

Bynum said, “We’re very thankful for all investments Lockheed Martin has made to our College of Science, Engineering and Technology. We’re also glad to have our alumni with Lockheed giving back to Jackson State University.

Lockheed area director Karmyn Norwood, JSU Class of 1994, said, “We look forward to helping faculty and students and really developing the kind of university you want it to be.”
