
The University Communications department at Jackson State University introduces its marketing and social media staff.
Ashton Hall has been appointed interim marketing director. She is responsible for marketing the university’s brand, overseeing marketing initiatives, campaigns and designs. Also, she posts content for social media, digital media and the Web. Hall earned a Bachelor of Arts in public relations from Mississippi College. Before appointment to marketing director, Hall served in the capacities of social media and marketing for University Communications. Formerly, she worked at Mississippi Public Broadcasting, assisting with digital media, radio, TV production, education and public relations efforts.

Also, the team consists of social media director Spencer McClenty. He manages the strategic development and direction of all the universities main social media communities. As well, he collaborates, consults and trains social community managers throughout the university on the use of web-based media.
Previously, McClenty was the department’s new media coordinator. He earned a bachelor’s degree in mass communications from JSU.
Social media associate Kentrice Rush performs a variety of duties related to the management, marketing and growth of the university’s digital presence on a variety of platforms. This includes social media, online, mobile and other emerging media.

Before joining the social media team, Rush worked with University Communications as a marketing consultant. Previously, she worked with Black Entertainment Television and Turner Broadcasting System. She earned a bachelor’s degree in marketing from JSU and an MBA from Clark Atlanta University.
