Civil Rights pioneer Myrlie Evers and her daughter, Reena Evers-Everette, visited Jackson State University on Monday, June 17, to personally thank the University Communications staff for their help with the Medgar Evers 50th Anniversary Commemoration Tribute Gala and related events.

The UC staff played a key role in marketing and promoting the event, including directing the video production, creating the gala booklet, generating press coverage and leading the marketing strategy.
“My heart just goes out to each and every one of you because working with you has been such a joy,” Evers-Everette said. “You have shown such professionalism, such heart and spirit. Everything that I personally wanted to happen for people to really understand the meaning and vision of my father, you helped get out.”
Thanks for the memories. As always JSU ‘” challenging minds, changing lives”
