Jackson State University faculty and staff are encouraged to attend a conference on how to apply for grants from the National Science Foundation (NSF) on Thursday.
Held on JSU National Science Foundation Day at the Engineering Building, the daylong NSF HBCU-UP Outreach Workshop is designed to teach best practices for applying for NSF grants, said Almesha L. Campbell, intellectual property manager, JSU Division of Research and Federal Relations.
Programs include: Education & Human Resources (EHR) Core Research (ECR); Improving Undergraduate STEM Education (IUSE); Advanced Technological Education (ATE); Scholarships in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (S-STEM); Alliances for Graduate Education and the Professoriate (AGEP); Faculty Early Career Development (CAREER) Program; Graduate Research Fellowships Programs (GRFP); NSF Research Traineeship (NRT); Centers of Research Excellence in Science and Technology (CREST); and Louis Stokes Alliances for Minority Participation (LSAMP).
NSF program officers will be on hand, she said.
The program cost is $50 and is scheduled for 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
