It’s not too late to make donations to support student scholars!

While February was a great time to for alumni, friends and supporters of Jackson State University to show their commitment to historically black colleges and universities, the need for university support continues.

It’s not too late to donate to JSU to support student scholars. That’s the message from President Dr. Carolyn W. Meyers (center), Dr. Mary M. Jackson State was the school of the month in February with the Tom Joyner Foundation. But donations are still being accepted.

Dr. Mary M. White, interim vice president of JSU’s Division of Institutional Advancement, said, “We are committed to helping Jackson State continue to grow and to nurture student learning and achievement for years to come, but we need financial support to do so.”

“No matter how big or how small, every donation counts. Make a donation today,” White said.

The Tom Joyner Foundation was established in 1998 as the brainchild of nationally syndicated radio personality Tom Joyner.

The mission of the Foundation is to support historically black colleges and universities (HBCUs) with scholarships, endowments and capacity-building enhancements.

The Foundation has provided necessary support to every HBCU in its 14-year history to help sustain and preserve the legacies of these valuable institutions.

Through fundraising and donor development initiatives, $65 million has been raised to support more than 29,000 students attending HBCUs.

Additionally, the Foundation has recommended internships, offered matching grant support, and career development to deserving students.
