The JSU Division of Athletics will graduate 24 student-athletes tonight at 2014 Fall Commencement.

Set to begin at 6 p.m. at the Lee E. Williams Athletics and Assembly Center, the commencement address will be given by former New Orleans mayor Marc H. Morial.
Of the 24 candidates for graduation, 11 come from football: Dareon Atkins, Tevin Chapman, Tim Dandridge, Ronald Fuller, Ryan Griffin, Cordarius Hill, Ariane McCree, Zach Pendleton, Joseph Perry, Jaydell Roy and Jonathan Smith.
Baseball is scheduled to graduate six players: Josue De Leon, Brandon Gregory, Andre Rodgriguez, Wyatt Sutton, Bryce Taylor and Charles Tillery.
The two women’s golfers are scheduled to graduate: Stephanie Robertson and Amanda White.
The six remaining candidates for graduation include Jekayla Bafford from bowling, Alexandra Goutier from soccer, Ekwara Ndongo from women’s basketball, Briana Hopkins from volleyball, Jose Luque from men’s tennis and men’s track and field’s Jeremy Wilson.
Included in this list are 13 Southwest Athletic Conference All-Academic team members, six Chi Alpha Psi members (Athlete Honor Society) and 10 who participated in JSU’s Breakfast of Champions program (honors student-athletes with 3.0 GPA or better). Six members of the fall graduating class also won SWAC championships.
Earlier this semester, it was announced that JSU led the list with the number of student-athletes maintaining a 3.0-plus GPA in the SWAC while competing in their respective sports.
Jackson State led the group with 173, followed closely by Alabama State University (158), Mississippi Valley State University (135) and Prairie View A&M University (126), according conference officials.
