JSU students also will present their work in a public screening on Friday, May 29 at the JSU Student Center Theatre at 5:30 p.m.

Dr. Elayne Hayes Anthony, director of mass communications at JSU, said, “We are very happy to host the Tim Reid Legacy Media Institute first master class on filmmaking at JSU. Students will be given experience in every aspect of filmmaking. We are pleased to have award-winning actor Tim Reid as the instructor for this course.”

The London workshop participants will produce their own short narrative film to be screened in front of a UK audience in the BFI-Southbank theater on Saturday, June 20, in conjunction with BFI’s African Odyssey Film Programme.

Under Reid’s guidance, participants will be exposed to expert advice of other established industry professionals such as award-winning cinematographer John Simmons, the American Society of Cinematographers, and UK’s award-winning actor and director Burt Caesar. Other industry professionals will also join the group to cover directing, acting, animation, marketing and promotions.
