Spencer McClenty, associate director of the Department of Communications and Marketing, was recently appointed to the 2018 HBCUgrow Advisory Board.
HBCUgrow strives to improve the brand, website and marketing campaigns of HBCUs by working with a consortium of people dedicated to growing enrollment and alumni giving and tackling the changing landscape of marketing challenges. It also offers participants a sense of community, knowledge, best practices and marketing solutions.
“It always feels good to be recognized for your work. I appreciate the fact that the HBCUgrow team believes that I can add something to their efforts and enhance what they’re doing,” said McClenty.
The goal of the advisory board is to assist in providing input and direction for HBCUgrow conferences and training events. Board members, past and present, include administrators and leadership from Alabama A&M University, Bennett College, Grambling State University, and Shaw University among others.
“Our department is full of uniquely talented people, and we all help one another. So this recognition is a compliment to everyone on our team. But, mostly, I’m really just thankful to God because ultimately, all of the credit for this goes to him,” said McClenty.
