Veronica Cohen, vice president of Institutional Advancement and External Affairs at JSU, has been selected to serve on the programming committee for the philanthropy track for CASE’s upcoming District III Conference in Orlando, Florida.
The Council for Advancement and Support of Education is the global association for professionals in advancement—alumni relations, communications, development, marketing, and advancement services—who share the goal of championing education to transform lives and society.
“I am honored to be a part of such an esteemed group of professionals who will collaboratively develop the 2020 philanthropy curriculum for the upcoming District III Conference,” says Cohen. “This organization has a lot of expertise pertaining to Institutional Advancement that will help me gain additional knowledge of best practices to implement at JSU.”
CASE District III advances and supports educational and professional institutions in the southeastern United States by enhancing the effectiveness of the alumni relations, fundraising, communications, marketing and other advancement professionals who serve them.
“I will be responsible for working with other committee members to make decisions based on the proposals submitted according to this year’s conference theme,” says Cohen. “The theme is diversity, data and design.”
The District III annual conference offers elite education within all facets of advancement, led by some of the Southeast’s most successful leaders; extensive networking opportunities throughout the event; the chance to earn a number of continuing education credits; a comprehensive trade show presenting the latest products, services and technologies; and an awards banquet recognizing and celebrating the best of District III.
“It’s important for my team to attend CASE conferences and also to come back and present what was learned during various sessions,” says Cohen. “This ultimately helps us to understand how each unit is individually connected and designed to advance our institution.”
The CASE District III annual conference is expected to attract around 1,500 advancement professionals for engaging educational experiences and superb entertainment.
