The Higher Education Roundtable – aka Lamplighters – has selected as one of its newest members Angela Y. Getter, executive director of corporate and external relations in JSU’s College of Science, Engineering and Technology.
The national Roundtable is a diverse organization of high-achieving practitioners such as chief development and advancement officers. Other members include college presidents, journalists, education association executives and others.
On her appointment, Getter said, “I’m grateful to be selected to participate with professional colleagues as a 2018 member of the Higher Education Roundtable – Lamplighters. This will provide an invaluable opportunity to engage with thought-leaders and educational professionals on the impact of advancement and communications. Also, this opportunity will help bring a diverse perspective within the higher education landscape on organizational structure and professional development.”
During their annual spring meetings, members gather to share experiences and advice and visit campuses to see firsthand the work of colleagues and the advancement profession. They also discuss issues and trends that impact all aspects of communications and development.
