Hilliard among honorees at First Ladies Brunch for her community involvement

Name cardDr. Kimberly Hilliard, executive assistant to the president for special initiatives, was honored for her community involvement this past weekend at the First Ladies Brunch hosted by media personality Othor Cain.

Hilliard said she was flattered by the news.

“With so many deserving individuals, I am both honored and humbled to receive this community award. I am pleased that Jackson State University, both as a professional and scholar, has afforded me the opportunity to promote community vitality in various neighborhoods across the State of Mississippi. The award not only reflects my personal commitment to service but also the commitment of the University to making a positive social impact,” Hilliard said.

Other honorees included Dorothy Biard, first lady of Jackson Revival Center in Jackson; Sara McGue, first lady of One Church in Ridgeland; Phelisa Smith-Pittman, first lady of Hanging Moss Church of Christ in Jackson; and Johniece DuPree, first lady of the City of Hattiesburg.
