Jackson State University will host International Week April 7-11 to honor the growing diverse culture on JSU’s campus. The week will start with an opening ceremony that kicks off all the events that are associated with International Week.
Every year, JSU hosts International Week to promote global awareness of the world’s many cultures through educational and entertaining activities. These events include a film festival, peace conference, parade of flags, ice cream social and the International Scholarship Banquet to name a few.
During the banquet, winners of the International Student of the Year Award will be recognized. This award acknowledges exceptional personal contributions of international students in bringing cultural awareness and appreciation of diversity on JSU campus and the Jackson community. The following information is a list of all the events.
INTERNATIONAL ART EXHIBIT – April 7 – 11, 2014

Description: This year the exhibit will consist of My Jackson State University photography, highlighting original work of students enrolled at Jackson State University. The winning pieces should have artistic and visual appeal; express the beauty, fun, and camaraderie of life at Jackson State University. The winner will receive a gift card that can be used towards the purchase of textbooks in the University bookstore.
INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL – April 7 – 11, 2014

Description: A variety of films that depict countries from around the world and the United States will be featured. Many are based on biographies of individuals and entities that have made a significant impact such as L’Enfant prodigue, Defence of Sevastopol, and With Our King and Queen Through India.
