(JACKSON, Miss.) – Jackson State University (JSU) is excited to welcome Letherio Zeigler to the Office of Financial Aid as the Executive Director of Financial Aid Services and Scholarships. With nearly three decades of experience in financial aid administration, Zeigler brings a student-centric approach and a track record of enhancing retention, customer service and financial support systems to the Division of Enrollment Management.

“I’m honored to join Jackson State University and help students navigate the financial aid process with clarity and confidence,” Zeigler said. “Too often, financial aid can feel like a barrier instead of a bridge to opportunity. My goal is to simplify the process, provide exceptional support and ensure that students and families get the resources they need without unnecessary stress. I look forward to working with the JSU community to make financial aid more accessible and student-friendly.”

Zeigler, a South Carolina native, holds a bachelor’s degree in sociology from Southern Illinois University and a master’s degree in sociology from Lincoln University. He is currently pursuing a Doctor of Education in educational leadership at Clark Atlanta University.

In his new role, Zeigler will oversee financial aid operations, ensuring compliance with all federal and state policies while working to maximize enrollment. His expertise in Title IV regulations and student financial aid assistance will strengthen JSU’s mission of providing accessible and equitable education.

Kylon Alford-Windfield, vice president of enrollment management, expressed confidence in Zeigler’s leadership.

“Jackson State University is committed to removing financial barriers and ensuring every student has access to the resources they need to succeed,” Alford-Windfield said. “Zeigler brings a wealth of experience in financial aid administration and a deep understanding of enrollment strategy, compliance and student support. His leadership will be instrumental in enhancing financial aid processes, improving efficiency and expanding access for students. I am confident that his expertise and strategic vision will strengthen our commitment to student success and institutional growth.”

Zeigler has served in leadership roles at eight institutions across Missouri, Georgia, Tennessee and Mississippi, including three Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs). His experience includes positions at institutions such as Fisk University, Nashville State Community College and Mississippi Valley State University.
