Jackson State University’s Sonic Boom of the South performing the smash music hit “Needed Me” by VMA Vanguard Award Winner Rihanna yesterday evening at the Dr. William U. Pearson Community Center in Las Vegas. According to the community center’s website, “the objective of the Pearson Center, in line with the mission of the Urban League, is to positively influence the outcomes of minorities in economically challenged communities by offering effective recreational, social services, sports, health and wellness and educational programs to enhance their lives through advocacy of environmental and self-awareness and providing education and resources to promote self-sufficiency.”
