Jackson State University’s Department of Journalism and Media Studies recently announced that Robert “Rob Jay” Jeuitt is the permanent general manager of JSUTV. Anthony Dean is now general manager of WJSU FM 88.5, and Andrew Quinn is television production manager of JSUTV.
“I am so pleased to be working with this team of media professionals with proven track records in their designated fields. They have media backgrounds that will assist the University in spreading the message of excellence and experience. I am happy to have them on our team,” said Elayne Hayes-Anthony, chair of the Department of Journalism and Media Studies.
Jeuitt is responsible for the day-to-day operations of JSUTV Comcast 14. He also manages a four-to-seven-person staff and, as content creator for the network, he promotes the University’s many activities.

“I am honored to be named the permanent general manager of JSUTV. Our station provides quality programming and gives JSU students an excellent opportunity to gain valuable experience of working at a commercial television station,” said Jeuitt, who was named interim in 2019.
A native of Jackson, Jeuitt has over 30 years of broadcast journalism experience. His professional endeavors include 23 years as an award-winning sports director at local NBC affiliate WLBT-TV.
As general manager of WJSU FM 88.5., Dean’s duties include supervising programming operations and related WJSU staff. He provides oversight of original and acquired programming and scheduling based on disciplined analysis (ratings, research, trends, etc.). Additionally, Dean also develops the overall programming strategy, evaluates programming options, and negotiates licensing agreements.
Among a host of other duties, Dean works with the department chair and instructors in the Department of Journalism and Media Studies (JMS) to provide practicum and internships for students. He was named interim in 2018.

“I am honored to be the full-time general manager of WJSU and am especially appreciative to Dr. Elayne Hayes-Anthony for her confidence in me,” said Dean. “WJSU has always been special to me because of the commitment to providing high quality and innovative programs to the Jackson metropolitan area.”
Dean explained that his focus as a manager is working with the Department of Journalism and Media Studies to give students practical experience.
“WJSU’s service to students and the community truly represents Jackson State University’s commitment to community service. I am proud to be a part of this great institution,” he said.
Since Sep. 2019, Quinn served as assistant production manager of JSUTV. Before JSU, Quinn spent over five years as a photojournalist for WJTV News Channel 12.

“I am honored to first be a part of a great family here at ‘Thee’ best a university in ‘Thee’ Land. I would also like to say without a great team, this promotion wouldn’t be possible, said Quinn. “I would like to thank Dr. Elayne Anthony, Mr. Rob J, Mr. Ed Bishop, Mr. Lavell Leggett, and Mr. Eric Walker, and the countless students who keep JSUTv going,” he said.
