Journalism and Media Studies will host Mississippi Association of Broadcasters

Glynnis Pleasant Byline[hr]MAB LOGOThe Department of Journalism and Media Studies will host the Mississippi Association of Broadcasters, executives and other education institutions  for a networking event on Tuesday, Oct 17.

The event will take place at the Mississippi e-Center@JSU from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The goal is to create a line of communication between broadcasters and students who attend colleges and universities in Mississippi. Students will have the opportunity to have one-on-one sessions with broadcasters, conduct interviews, share their work and receive critique.

Dr. Elayne H. Anthony, chair of the department and board member of MAB, encourages all students to attend. “I wanted Jackson State to be on MAB’s schedule. These are news directors and owners, and these are people in the broadcast business who can either offer internships or jobs to our students,” she said.

All students are encouraged to bring examples of their work.
