Jackson State University welcomes all transfer and Community College students to register today! JSU’s Community College Relations staff hosted prospective students from various community colleges on Feb. 7 during the university’s Transfer Day.

Dr. Priscilla Slade, special assistant to Provost for Community Colleges, and Paul Scott, JSU Community College Recruiter, welcomed more than 100 students to the campus. The students received admission and financial aid information, learned about each of the colleges and also toured the campus.

Following the campus tour, students were asked why they chose Jackson State.

Community College Relations advances JSU by increasing enrollment and retention, attracting academically talented transfer students and creating opportunities for collaboration between faculty at JSU and community colleges.

JSU has an agreement with Hinds Community College focused on easing the transition from community college to a four-year university. And last fall, JSU signed an agreement with Holmes Community College that allows Holmes students to pursue a bachelor’s degree from JSU in selected fields, including elementary education and criminal justice, without ever leaving the Holmes campus.
